Virginia reclaims "Top State for Business" title and Montgomery County is named "Top Trending Blue Ridge Mountain Destination"
Montgomery County, Virginia– CNBC announced today that Virginia is America’s “Top State for Business” in 2019. Having fallen from the top spot in recent years, Virginia reclaims the title of being the top state for business. CNBC determines their rankings each year based on 64 metrics in 10 categories of competitiveness.
Virginia’s “world-class workforce, high-performing education system and business-friendly regulations” were all cited as reasons for Virginia taking the top spot this year. Low cost of doing business, a strong economy, great quality of life, access to capital and the technology and innovation all over the state were also cited as reasons for Virginia getting the top spot.
Part of the great quality of life that Virginia has to offer stems from the abundance of outdoor amenities throughout the state. Blue Ridge Country magazine today named Montgomery County one of the top 3 trending Blue Ridge Mountain destinations in the state of Virginia. This ranking was determined by assessing the increase in travel spending to the locations, along with an online voting poll for the magazine’s readers. The outdoor amenities are immense throughout Montgomery County, while also allowing visitors and residents alike to stay closely connected to town amenities. This accolade ties in as just part of the reason Virginia is a top-state for business.
